Blogging, Affiliates, and the Start of Girls’ Guide to Glitz

In this article I want to discuss the connection between bloggers and affiliate retailers. And I want to talk about what this means for you as a shopper.

One way that bloggers can make a small income from their passion for blogging is by acquiring affiliate relationships with retailers. If a reader clicks on a link to the retailer’s website (within the blog) and makes a purchase, the blogger gets a very small percentage of the profit. There are many other ways that bloggers can monetize their craft to cover their expenses. For me, affiliate relationships are the best option.

Like most bloggers, I’m passionate about my website. I love jewelry, and I believe that a well-chosen jewelry collection is one of life’s great pleasures. I spend hours, days even, researching a piece of jewelry before I buy it.

A few years ago, I decided I wanted to share my passion for jewelry with others. As a GIA Accredited Jewelry Professional, I wanted to provide shopping tips and share pictures of some of my favorite pieces of jewelry. Girls’ Guide to Glitz was born!

So, what does this mean for my readers? It means I can feature beautiful jewelry on my blog and utilize affiliate links to help defray the costs of maintaining my website.

I hope you find the jewelry on Girls’ Guide to Glitz as lovely as I do, and I hope you find my articles helpful. If so, please sign up for weekly updates. And, if you’d like to make a purchase, please click through the link on my website. I’d really appreciate it!
